Ear Stretching vs Naval Piercing?

Over the past 2 years I have stretched my ears to a gauge 0 size. So, obviously I realize the distinct pain each time I stretch my ear lobes larger. I was wondering how this pain was compared to a naval piercing. I am very interested in getting my naval professionally pierced but I am afraid of needles and pain. I know there are people who have gauges and their navals pierced, so which one hurt more and why?
