I'be bought some 'Now Slim Strips' ... they are paper thin sheets (like that chewing gum you used to be able to by) that dissolve on your tongue... your meant to place one on your tongue when you feel like snacking and it suppresses you hunger.. there are no precautions on the packaging or their website about the effects on the Contraception.. (AKA the pill).... but i wanted to make sure to see if anyone else has found that they are detrimental to birth control... so yer, they're hunger suppressants... not diet pills lol. Irritation when shaving.......?

I'm a swimmer so I shave some parts of my body, but I have a hard time shaving the line from my naval to pubic area. One way to go about it if you want to have the quick weight loss of low carbs (not the best way to go) is to cycle periods of low carb eating. Can I be in a combat unit if I am colorblind?

My goal in life up to this point has been to get into the Naval Academy and become a marine officer. I have busted my balls to get a 4.0 and do all the leadership and charity, as well as letter in football and track. However, I recently discovered that I was slightly colorblind. It is so slight that i can actually make out some of the numbers on the plates that colorblind people aren't supposed to be able to see. Okay, I'm a 12 year old girl. I am 5'5 and weigh 175 pounds. I have not been happy with my weight for a long time. I just want to feel normal. I want to lose about 30 pounds before I go back to school. I know it will take a lot, but I'm willing to do it. Right now I'm eating 1500 calories daily and exercising for one 1/2 hours. Will this work? I do 30 minutes of yoga and I run for about an hour. I am eating healthy. I'm not drinking soda or juice, and I don't snack or overeat. Keep in mind I do not like vegetables. Call me crazy, but I think the Philadelphia 76ers were our biggest challenge. Their record might not show it, but they match up so well with the Heat. They were young and fast, unlike the Celtics and Mavericks They also had multiple guys who can take over the scoring load (Holiday, Turner, Iguodala, and Williams), unlike the Bulls, who rely heavily on Rose offensively. no it sounds good. youll probably gain lots of muscle from ur work-out,but it might be good to cut out the cardio workout and the jogging or the sprinting. cut out only 2 of those things, but do NOT cut out the jump rope. jump rope is great for getting in shape. and ur meal plan is perfect. just be careful to not over-work urself.

Is it possible I'm still a late bloomer?

My brother was an EARLY bloomer. He hit about 6'1 and got all his body hair by the time he was about 15. Then he just stopped growing. My dad too, he is also hairy but he said he started growing hair at 12!! but he's only 5'8. I'm turning 19 in Aug. and I'm slightly under 5'9. Could I have ovarian cancer and not know?

I am almost 19 years old and I have had bad bladder infections and pain in my pelvis for about 4 months now and I kept telling to doctor and they didn't see anything abnormal in my urine so they kept telling me that it was just a bladder infection and "rib cage pain". So, about a month and a half ago I had pain so immensely bad in my right side of my pelvis and when I would have a bowel movement it was ten times worse. I went to the Emergency Room and they did a vaginal ultrasound and found "multiple ovarian cysts" on my right ovary and they were hemorragic cysts. So, I've just been dealing with the pain. But, recently I've been having pain on my right leg from my pelvis down to my knee and I'm feeling full quickly after a snack along with bloating all throughout my days. Could I have symptoms of ovarian cancer and not know it? Would the doctors be able to tell?

I agree with White Settlement. Saginaw is a nice, affordable area to live in. I would stay away from Interstate 30 or 35W. South Ft Worth or even Benbrook are excellent locations.

When I was 13, I found a baby dove being attacked by its mother, so I rescued it. It became strong and began to learn to fly. I named her Iggy, and she still lives in a tree next to my house. Husband went to Naval boot camp...Some simple questions?

From my experience with the Army, he most likely gets up some time around 0500, lights out is probably around 2130-2200. Letters will be distributed every weekday at mail call, unless something prevents them from being in the bay that day, like a field exercise that extends into the night or multiple days. A letter takes about 3-4 days to reach its destination, so that will tell you when he will get your letter. Assume he will get it about 4 days after you sent it. His first letter will probably say "Hey, I made it to Great Lakes, this is my mailing address, Love you, (Hubby name)" After that, he can choose to write you during his free time. My wife and I exchanged letters daily while in BCT. Don't expect his first letter til the middle to end of next week. Last year I worked at this camp at my church for my confirmation and there was this girl there that I didn't know with a girl I did know from church. Every morning when I sat in my groups area she would look over at me, smile and the like. When I was in 8th grade, my diet at school was mainly pizza and at home, the stereotypical "black meat preference", pork chops (fried). I don't like fried foods because: it's gross, it's cooked in excessive fats, and the greasy residue left over on your plate and on your mouth is just absolutely disgusting. Anyway, after having that fixed diet for 2 years so far, I have weighed myself and estimated my gross weight gain to be approximately 15 lbs. My metabolism in the 7th grade was at an all time high. Due to the lack of running for 3 years (well, immoderate running) I've slowed down drastically. I still have my energy, but my speed and stamina attributes have depleted... I've also been eating more than my metabolism's capability in digestion. Do I still have the metabolic speed? If so, how do I lose this somewhat small amount of belly flab (the fat mainly shrouds around my naval)? Exercise and dieting is obvious, but it seems to have become harder to lose this weight. I'm figuring it's from aging, but who knows? That's why I'm on here. Please give informative and, if you must, somewhat comical answers, por favor. Gracias. :D

I know I want to be an officer in the US Marine Corps but I have been having trouble deciding whether I should go to the Naval Academy and do the Leatherneck Program or if I should choose the Marine option for NROTC. HELP I'M OUT OF CONTROL!?!? D:?

So I'm trying to recover, and yesterday I said "If I feel hungry, I should eat until I'm full" so I ate breakfast,lunch,dinner,snacks yesterday, but the problem is that it totalled 928 calories only, and I was actually happy because I managed to eat that amount in 1 whole day. Not that it's too much, it's too little, I'm aware of that. But then I couldn't sleep for the whole night, and I woke up at 6.30 am with hunger pangs! so after 30 minutes or so when I finally gave up and realized there would be no way to get back to sleep, I weighed myself and saw that I hadn't lost anything, I got frustrated and was like "F*ck it" so I ate, and was like really hungry :/ I consumed like 2000 calories. I don't know why my body does this to me though, like I get pale and dizzy and it feels like I haven't eaten for days if I don't get the right amount of food for 12 - 24 hours. So after I had consumed 2000 calories, I said I wouldn't eat until tomorrow, 6 hours later I binged on cookies :/ so THEN I purged! and THEN on top of that I took 1 bag of laxative powder. I don't want to do this anymore, it's enough! I want to like my body and I'm tired of being in auto-mode while this other unknown person inside of me is doing this. Please help, I know I can beat this on my own, but I just need some support from some people that have gone through the same! :(

Bleeding naval/leaking navel?

So one of my friends has a bleeding/leaky navel. I have no idea what it is and he doesnt know either. He told me he had this before one time maybe around March or April he told me and it had a foul smell he said with some clear fluid and some blood at times. Now he's experiencing this again about two days ago. I am trying to eat healthily and break my habit of craving for sugar. At the moment I am following a diet plan for which I don't exceed 24g of sugar. I have been managing this fairly easily, but only because I've been cutting down on my fruit and vegetable intake. Fruit is so sugary that I can't eat too much, but annoyingly, all the vegetables that are good for snacking on - such as carrots - are really sugary. It has Salsa, Mambo, Hip Hop, Aerobics, Yoga, Boxing, Martial Arts, and a few more types on it. it's a really good way to workout your legs and arms. It sounds like you had a good day over all. I suggest you eat a bit more, the standard these days is 3-5 small meals a day every 3-4 hours rather then 3 large meals every 5 hours. You did a good job on the dinner salad and lunch melon slices. There isn't really a problem with having a lot of bread either, having a higher fiber intake will simply help cleanse your body of anything it considers waste, also good job on having grapes and carrots as a snack, rather then unhealthy options.

I just started running everyday, I run for a mile and walk two. This is an hour altogether. I am 19 year old female and weigh 179 but look 140-150. I actually want to go down to 140 but I don't think that will happen by August or September. I am a vegetarian (2 years) and I just stopped eating junk food totally, drinking mostly water, no soda, and I didn't really eat sweets before so that's not a problem since I don't crave it. I can do 43 push ups in a minute and 58 sit ups. I also play zumba on the wii sometimes, and I have been lifting weights since September but it has only gained me muscle, I want to go to a gym again and also take krav maga classes. I don't really eat snacks during the day, as in I dont get hungry. I eat three meals a day and I'm full. I have a small stomach. Questions about Naval Piercing?

Oh my god it hurts really bad. My sister said it didn't hurt at all - everyone is different. The pain from the piercing only last a second, then you will have some throbbing pain after. That's all. A good thing to do would be to make a list of foods you like and eat those more often. That way, when you have to eat, you'll enjoy the calories. If you aren't hungry, but you have to eat, try eating foods that will be good for your body. As long as you know that the foods will benefit your body, not make you fat, you won't mind eating them as much. To gain weight, you could also take up weightlifting. Muscle weighs more than fat, so that will help you gain healthy weight faster. I dont really know of a way to be hungrier, but I suppose you could try making delicious meals that make you want to eat. If you see food that you like, you'll feel hungry, even if in reality you aren't actually that hungry. Basically, you just want the taste. Im glad thay you are recovering from it. I can imagine how hard it must be and I desperately want you to succeed. It is great to know that there are people out there with the willpower to overcome anorexia. If one of the main reasons you dont want to eat is a fear of becoming fat, keep in mind that you burn calories just being awake. You even burn them sleeping. You can definitely gain healthy weight by weightlifting and keep off the unhealthy fat by eating nutritious foods that will help your bones and muscles. Good luck and I hope this helped!

Your puppy associated the kennel with the storm that freaked him out. Try putting some of your dirty, worn, clothes in the kennel with him so he can 'smell' you. Help i have pain in chest when eating hot food.?

Sometimes when i eat hot food, not spicy hot but oven hot ill get this terrible pain in my chest that feels like a heart attack. The pain will last about 6 seconds and then ill be ok. Ignore the rude comments. Some people apparently do not know that Marines aren't always deployed over seas. And gasp sometimes they are home on leave! I would also go off base for my medical care if I were you. I've never heard of vitamins containing fish, I know that they make omega 3 supplements with fish in it. I don't know if they have fish in them but I had a friend who couldn't keep down her prenatal vitamins and her dr. told her to take 2 flintstones. Is naval jelly hard on metals?

How do you keep moisture out of the foods in a small office fridge?

I have a small fridge in my office. The kind that has the tiny little freezer and then some small shelves in it as well. I went and bought a bunch of snack stuff to put in there and like a week later everything was all wet, and moisture had ruined a lot of the food. How to I get rid of this moisture? There is not actually any moisture forming in the fridge (walls or roof), but everything is all soggy, and most of it is packaged items. I have sealed tortilla's that are just soaking wet, and expensive sealed cheese that is now gross because it has turned to mush. What can I do to fix this? I have checked the seals on the fridge and they are fine.

I am a sixteen year old incoming junior, and my dream is to go to the United States Naval Academy. I want to be a leader and I want to serve my country. I make all A's. I take AP and honors classes. I play varsity football and start. I am an eagle scout. I'm in NHS. I'm kind of big (6'0 225 lb), but I have 18% body fat. I'm strong and I'm not worried about push ups and sit ups. However, I'm kind of concerned about my distance running. I run at about an 8min 30sec mile pace, which is certainly not on track for the required 10:30 for the 1.5 mile on the PRT. I've taken to running the five mile trail by my house on my off days during the off season (tuesdays and thursdays). And normally have a one to two mile run for conditioning on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions for how I can improve this. Thank you

Me and my health? Am I healthy?

Hey guys! Alright, so I'm 12 yrs in seventh grade. I'm on the shorter side and I weigh around 76-78. I decided to start eating healthier. Today, for breakfast, I ate two pieces of whole grain white toast, for lunch: a salad with shredded cheese and Italian dressing with a few wheat thins, and for a snack an English muffin with peanut butter, and butter noodles for dinner. This, in my opinion is particularly healthy, I'm watching what I eat now and I think that's a good idea. I'm pretty active and I walk my dogs once around the block every night, I swim for about an hour on Thursdays, and I do figure skating practice for about an hour on Saturdays. So.. Am I healthy? Hey there, I'm fifteen & I think you're doing a great good, but exercises would be better. Do like 10 sit ups everynight, building it higher each week. Playing some sport would help aswell. What you are doing is you are eating healthy, but then not taking that off. If you sit on the computer, it's gaining weight. So you are taking it off & gaining it again. I suggest maybe even doing a little run, doing star jumps, increasing every night. Weigh yourself every morning before you eat, as you get your current weight. Keep a record of your weigh & then you can see how much you are dropping off! Jump on the Internet & look up some exercises, don't give in, push yourself, I know it's hard, buy you will end up looking great! What kind of meal plan did you have your 8 month old on?

My daughter will be 8 months on Thursday, and she's still pretty much exclusively breastfed. I give her a jar of food maybe four days a week, and we give her mum-mums to snack on because she's teething and she loooves chewing on them. We also share our food with her depending on what we are eating, but only small amounts. It hit us the other day that she will be a year old in four months, and I feel like I need to start getting her on an eating schedule to start the weaning process. I plan on weaning when she is a year old, but its getting so close...I may end up going longer. She still nurses about 10 times a day, which I'm fine with....but I want to put more foods in her diet. But I have no idea how much I should be feeding her? My best friend just told me that when her son was 8 months, he was only nursing three times a day...and eating jar food for breakfast lunch and dinner...up to 10 jars a day. If you meant high school then no they won't look at your actual performance as a 14 year old, because it would already be calculated in your final GPA. They will look at your cumulative GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT scores because that is what keeps them up top. They are worried about maintaining that, if your scores are below average you will need to be an extremely talented in the extracurriculars, leadership abilities and character rec's. Good luck. The more you apply the more they know you want it, they have a lot of foundation schools and one year post high schools out there that can help you.

It's a horrible plan. At 13 you need a basic healthy diet. Focusing on forced weight-loss is medically unsafe. 180 at 5'5" does seem like a lot but if you just adopt healthy habits you probably won't gain much as you finish growing into an adult and may lose a good bit in the meantime.

While your military and work experience may have been valuable to you (and the country), it counts for nothing with accredited college programs. CLEP and challenging courses are your only option, and there are unit limitations about how much you can do this to apply to a degree. Basically, you'll have to take nearly all the classes to get credit for them. I had 20 years of experience and was at the top of my field, when I decided I wanted to teach the subject at colleges. My experience counted for little, except that I knew that most of the professors were unqualified to teach the subject, since most of them started teaching straight away after getting their PhD and wouldn't be able to get hired for a real job if their lives depended on it. But that's how the system works. You have to get the approval of the system to prove that you can do what the professors say, regardless of how wrong they are. The good thing is that most adult students do much better than the average college kid, so getting straight A's isn't very difficult.

Are all Naval OCS positions full for Fiscal Year 2012?

I am a 25 year-old college graduate who is interested in becoming an officer in the Navy. My recruiter has notified me that since all Officer Candidate School positions have been taken for Fiscal Year 2012, I would have to join as enlisted for one year and then submit my package for OCS consideration in 2013. He also mentioned that this would give me a leg up on other civilian candidates. I'm not necessarily opposed to joining the Navy as enlisted, but when I was at MEPS this past week I was told by one of the medical officers that it would be a shame for someone (especially a female) with a college degree to waste it by not attempting to become an officer right out of the gate. They even recommended that I talk to other branches to see if I would be able to enter their officers program. Does anyone have any advice or guidance for me? I've always been slim but it's fair to say over the last few months I've gotten a bit big. Over winter I adopted some unhealthy eating habits that have carried on throughout the year adding about 30lbs to my weight making me around 185lbs. What if I dont pass my PT test for boot camp for USNSCC?

I am going to boot camp on June 17th in Chicago at the Great Lakes Naval Base, and I have every part of the PT test down except for the running. I have heard that the boot camp for USNSCC(United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps) is lenient, and the only way you wont graduate is if you mouth off, have a bad attitude, or injure yourself during training. I hope this is true, because I would hate to not graduate. I only am worried about the running part. Will I still graduate if I don't pass the PT test because of the running? The US military operates on a "joint forces" concept. That means we are more accurately referred to as US Armed Forces. Nobody operates alone. Each branch supports the other. The marines are a combat operations force, and as such, were utilized in that capacity. They, as opposed to the Army, have a more specialized mission because they have their own air force. The Army has a fleet of choppers, but don't employ fixed wing aircraft. Air support primarily falls on the Air Force, as far as fixed wing assets are concerned. The Marine Corps, I'm sure, prefers to use their own air assets. So, in the desert, the Marines were utilized to augment Army personnel to prevent the Army from being spread too thin. It didn't make much sense to have this highly capable and extremely specialized combat force just sitting around on their hands while there was a big land war going on.

What would be a good workout routine for me?

My work schedule is crazy during the summer and fall and slows down in the winter. During the busy time I usually work 12-15 hour days and then in the slow seasons usually only 10 hour days. I am wanting to loose 30 to 40 lbs and I need help. I have started trying to eat healthier and snack healthier at work, but I know that i need to include some form of exercise.
